Integrating Information Communication Technology
Welcome to The Rock Central School's Shaping The Modern World feature. The "Shaping The Modern World" project was a cross-curricular activity for Stage 4 students at The Rock Central School. History and Technology (Mandatory) joined together to give students the unique opportunity to study history and Web design in one project.
The combined programme took a term to complete and saw students’ research for and write about a chosen topic in History and create and design the web pages from scratch in Technology (Mandatory).

During the Web design phase in Technology classes students researched good and bad design principals. They also learnt basic XHTML (the programming code that creates Web page structure) and CSS (what gives Web pages style and colour). The students based their designs on a "classic" Web page layout using industry standard software for Web construction (Adobe Dreamweaver) and digital imaging (Adobe Photoshop).
Use the links to find out how these are both useful for teachers and for students from stages 4 through 6.
